Be Thankful Always!

Now that Thanksgiving Day is over, thanking God is never over.

The apostle Paul has instructed the faithful to rejoice always, pray without ceasing and in every circumstance or in every thing, give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you (see 1 Thess.5:16-18).

Hello, my name is Vic Veloria, originally from the Philippines and now living in the Garden State, a.k.a. New Jersey.

Welcome and explore the pages of my website.

This site has been created with you in mind. My main goal is to let you know that God loves you and has a good and wonderful plan for you. Also, I hope to show through the site's pages that life is beautiful; worthwhile and meaningful, if it is a life spent with God. That life is a gift from God and we should be grateful to Him for it. Furthermore, I hope to inspire you about eternal life, which we can only have through Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Life here on earth is temporary and God beckons us to receive eternal life so that we will live forever with Him in His heavenly dwelling.

May the Holy Spirit show you things here that will be useful and beneficial to your heart, mind and soul. I believe that your visit here is not accidental. So, browse and be blessed !

Please do not forget to register your visit and leave a note in my guest book. A lot of guests have not been leaving their mark here. Let me know that you dropped by, okay?

There is no place like hometown or so it seems. On August 7, 2005, I visited my hometown, Bani, for the shortest time.(Prior to this, my wife and I had already spent almost all of our vacation time in Iloilo City). Yet it flooded me with good memories of my childhood and it brought back to life nostalgia in my system. The moment I was there, it was both a moment of gladness and sadness at the same time. I was glad to visit it but I was also sad that I no longer live there.

Seeing the lot where our family house once stood was like seeing a once beautiful place robbed of its treasures and sad to realize that now, that home is no more. But as I saw these things, I thought that life is quite balanced by God, whether I live here in the United Sates or in Bani, God as being the author of my being and the Shepherd of my life has His good order of things for me. He created me and this fact alone tells me that He is intimately involved with the affairs of my life, even the smallest details of my life.

He gave me my parents so I could have wings. He gave me my siblings so I could grow with them. He gave me my hometown so I could have good memories to treasure for the rest of my life. He let me relocate to the United States so I could meet my wife, and together, build our own home and be blessed with two children. He gave me my own family so I could give my unconditional love. He gave me Jesus so I could have real life.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -  John
(KJV)

John 10:10
I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.  - Jesus
(NKJV)

HERE'S A SPECIAL PRAYER FOR YOU...

Bananas? No Way!

In the frontyard of my sister's house in Tandang Sora, Quezon City, Philippines - I marvelled at how these "bananas" have flowers instead of fruits. Then after some thinking, I remembered that these are the "Bird of Paradise" plants. I marvelled at the exotic sight in front of me and so I photographed it for posterity and for sharing it with others.

In life, there are forgotten things from our past that get rediscovered or that will resurface for a reason and for a purpose. It's all included in God's wonderful plan for us.

In the Bible (Romans 8:28), the apostle Paul said, "We all know that all things work together for the good of those who love God and  to those who are the "called" according to His purpose."

All we need to do is to trust Him with our lives.

GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON...

This is the greatest love story ever told. Yet, so many people today haven't heard the real story...How can they know unless someone tells them...How can that story be told unless that someone is anointed and sent by God?

Do you know why Jesus died on the cross? He died for you and me for the penalty of our sins and for our salvation. God's Son took all our sins away and became sin for us. God's wrath came upon His Son because, again, He himself became sin.  His shed blood and broken body paved the way for our salvation. This salvation is given to whosoever believes in Him; to those who receive Him as the Savior that was sent and to those who believe in His name...that He is indeed the Christ or Messiah, the Son of God and that by believing in Him, one will have eternal life.

Are you looking for the meaning of your life? Seek God and his kingdom. God is just a prayer away. You do not need to go to a pilgrimage or to a far away location to meet with God. He is near you and if you received Him in your heart, He is within you.

Receive Him today. Allow me to lead you to a prayer. Pray the following now:

Dear Jesus, I invite and receive you in my heart as my Master and my Savior. Please receive me into your kingdom. I confess that I am a sinner and ask forgiveness for all my sins. You have paid for my sins on that cross and you are now offering me eternal life simply by believing in you. I pray also to receive your Holy Spirit to dwell in me.  In Your Name I pray.  Amen.

MEET MAGENTA

My mother-in-law has two dogs. One of them is Black and guess what the color of this dog is?  Black, of course.  The one pictured here was named Magenta but she is white as you can see. Her name does not make sense to me at all. She could have been White and not Magenta. But I am sure that the owner has a good and valid reason for naming her that way.

Sometimes, some things do not make sense to us and we are grasping for some answers. Others go to the extent of blaming God for some misfortune or calamity. After all, they say, He allows these things to happen. The prophet Isaiah said that God's ways are not our ways, nor his thoughts are our thoughts. For his ways and thoughts are higher than ours. So at times, we cannot really fathom why certain things don't make sense to us. But pray for wisdom and inquire from God for He knows all things. Learn to really trust Him for He is God and He knows what He is doing.
